Semi-Interesting Things to Know About Me

Oh, hey! I'm Alexandra (I've probably mentioned that) and thanks for checking out this blog. I'm very new to the book review/ bookstagram world, but I'm excited to be here! I've been reading YA Fiction since I figured out there was a specific name for the genre of books I was always reading. I will literally drop everything when I start reading a book, which often means I'm reading until the wee hours of the morning -- I actually can't go to sleep with a book unread. It hurts my heart.
I love traveling, and chocolate (keeping a bag of dark chocolate chips near me will definitely result in an empty bag of chocolate chips)...and I should probably include my husband to this list ;). We live in Toronto, Canada, but I have a secret wish to move to London, England again (at least for a few months).
My Reading History and Current Favourites
I used to get in trouble at school for reading during lessons...but who wants to worry about math when Harry is fighting Voldemort (*again*) at the end of The Chamber of Secrets?!
My first big book series was the Trixie Belden series (never heard of it? I'm not surprised. Nancy Drew definitely won the title for youthful female detective and Trixie was pretty much left out to dry), which got me hooked when I was in the fifth grade. Although not my favourite series anymore, it will always be one of my not-so-secret obsessions to have the full series sitting on my bookshelf... *HINT: I WILL BUY THEM OFF YOU IF YOU HAVE ANY*
Since then, I've fallen in love with way too many other series and authors. In no particular order, my favourite authors are currently:

- Rainbow Rowell
- Kelley Armstrong (*Canadian!!*)
- Richelle Mead
- Nora Roberts (Yes, I like Romance. I'm comfortable admitting this)
Final Thoughts (because this clearly isn't long enough...)
Having a book reviewing blog just seemed like a really cool idea. I'm always reading YA books but have a hard time finding people to talk about them with. I find that a lot of people my age (27) are usually reading non-fiction, biographies, or just super depressing novels (or they are all liars and just don't want to admit that YA is amazing).
So this seemed like a fun way to put my thoughts out there and get your feedback. I'd love to talk further about any of the books that I review and I DEFINITELY want your suggestions on books to read! I hope you find things you like here and feel comfortable leaving a comment or sending me an email so we can continue the discussion.
To end with a quotes from The Darkest Minds:
“I think maybe the most frustrating feeling in the world is to have something to say but not know how to put it into words."
So say something...I can't wait to hear it :)
